Writer and social anthropologist
I am a Swedish social anthropologist, researching Swedish prostitution policy and, in particular, its ban on the purchase of sexual services as an expression of morality politics.
I am also the author of a book that analyses paradoxes in Swedish approaches to commercial sex (translated as Porn, Whores and Feminists), and was a project leader for the Swedish part of the multidisciplinary EU research project Addressing Demand in Anti-trafficking Efforts and Policies (DemandAT), 2014–2017. I was a member of the COST action network Comparing European Prostitution Policies: Understanding Scales and Cultures of Governance (ProstPol), 2013–2017.
Besides my academic work, I am social commentator and a published author in both fiction and non-fiction.
